Jupiter 4

I just picked up a jupiter 4, but i don't have any space for it so I will most likely sell it. Anyways long story short I wanted to know if i got a good deal or not. Does anyone know what they are worth?
Thanks

Well that's too bad that you are selling it! Value is tricky on these, it's one of those synths that you either love or hate. I would think that you could get at least some idea from ebay completed listings? I love mine and would never part with it, but horses for courses...

There hasn't been one that has sold on ebay in a while so I can't really compare prices.

If you decide to sell it and it's in good working condition let me know, I'm looking for one.

It's hard to say, we know nothing about it. We don't know what you paid, we don't know the condition yours is in…etc

Yep, I agree. To the OP, can you give us an idea about what sort of condition it is in, whether tuning is stable (a known issue with these), and whether it plays well? That way, we'd be better able to give you a ballpark idea.

Its mint physically. The one issue is that the arp won't trigger from the internal clock. It doesn't matter what I paid for it. I am not asking for profit margins. I just want to know what they typically sell for.

I am no expert on values of vintage synths, but I own many of them... and I follow the market regularly. Now with that caveat, a JP-4 in the condition that yours is in should fetch somewhere between $1200-$1400 I would guess. If you had the arpeggiator fixed, you might be able to sell it for $1500-1800. Again, these are just my estimates and may be on the conservative side! You haven't told us anything about the tuning stability of your unit... this could significantly de-value it!

Thank you. The tuning on it is fine. All I wanted was a rough estimate.

I'm looking for one, hoping to find one around 1600$ before I pull the trigger. eBay has had some going from Japan for a lot more than that but I'm not sure if anyone is buying them.
