I have Virus TI and i can tell this synth is very good especially if you want something modern & current sounding. If you don't like it well you can sell it!

The thing with the Snow is that it has a limited interface, so you'll be doing most of your interactions in the VST/AU plugin anyway. If you really want to get further out of the box with it save up the extra cash for the desktop, it has more DSP power too.

It would be good to know exactly why you are fed up with softsynths. Ie. is it because you lust for physical control, is it because you want to lighten your CPU usage, etc...

nah just have used em for years and am never happy with the sound - i've recently done some brutally honest listening to soft synth demos and then listened to many tracks with the virus and demos and the difference was huge to me at least.

the only time i was happy with my synth sounds was when i used my vengeance synth shots in a track - which are all virus samples anyway...

Part of the reason (imho) the Virus sounds awesome is its on-board effects. So that's something to consider...

Like others have said, the Snow has a limited interface, and its also a little underpowered compared to the original TI or TI2 versions. But if you can live with that, then go for it.
