Best Studio Monitors ?

As I said in another thread I'm wanting to build a studio. What are the best monitors for electronic music?

Anything from ADAM. KRK is the cheaper alternative to ADAM.
Dynaudio is kinda warm, Mackies are OK-ish, and Focals are a tad bright.

All I have now is a pair of Event ASP8. It does a great job especially when monitors are not right in your face and room acoustic is prepared properly for a flat monitor.

You should have some monitors custom made for the space.
Forget off the rack if you want the "best".

(psst...there is no "best").

Do you want near field monitors? Large monitors? Do you care about high SPL levels for checking a club mix or do you just want something accurate for use when monitoring at typical listening levels? Do you want to spend $400? Do you want to spend $6,000? Without this kind of info you're going to get all sorts of answers that won't make any sense at all for your application.

Dont think there is "A best"

If u havent used many brands and dont have experience mixing with them I
think u could choose any brand recommended here and just go for it and get to know them as good as u can, because every 1 will have their own opinion on this subject. Its more of a personal quest to find a monitor that suits your taste.

So go ahead and choose the monitor that some 1 convinces u is the best and
give it a go. A roll of the dice I guess

For me, Quested V3110 are the ones.
After trying Genelecs, dynaudio, adams, yamaha,

Yours For just £13,000. Going to need a big room though...

Two independently powered 15" subs, right down to 20hz

I think they are very impressive, the VXT4's are very cheap for the quality. Easy to find for £160-200 as bstock.

Hasn't this been covered in another thread already?
Black is the new black they say, we all know black absorbs light waves, and most anything really - best for a really dead feeling room.

I was pretty damned impressed by the Mackie MR8 MK2. Better than the KRK 10-3's, the HS80's, better low end response than the adams, and sounded _almost_ as good as event opals. But of course, this is all my opinion, and you really need to try them yourself. Everybody has their preference.

i didn't like the amp in the BM6A I just felt like the rich stereo image was just barely covering hiss at all moments and it felt fatiguing to my ears even after just about 15 minutes

ADAM A7X on the other hand really sounded nice and full with an
'effortless' quality to their stereo image

Focal Twin 6's blew the ADAM;s away but they are 2k more - Focal's are my next investment then probably a rosetta 200 and some kind of monitor controller

I really like the refined sound of the KH120 but when I would AB them against ADAM's or Focal Twins they had a very noticeable effect on guitar sounds which I just didn't like
