Akai S950 Hard disk ???

I had my Akai S950 in storage for years , today it was cleaned and lubricated and is ready to serve again.

I have all expansions , including digital i/o, max ram and Hard disk port.

The question is: which HD can I connect to its Hard disk port?

I never used it before and I forgot what kind of disks were available for it back in the 90s.

Is anyone using a HD with 950 or has any ideas where to get one or which disks will work with it?

Thanks in advance,

Gregor

Yeah, it should be an SCSI hard drive... eBay would probably be a good place to look, if you're gonna try and find one.

Thank you for replies,

I know it has to be a SCSI disk, but I need to know what kind of SCSI disk.

Capacity, type, etc - there is a 19 pin connector on the back labeled Hard Disk, which is different then other SCSI cables I used to have.

Will post some photos tomorrow.

Best,

Gregor

you need atari st hard disk, yes i'm sure

look on ebay for atari drives with 19pin cable, the most popular is 30mb drive

for example: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Megafile-30-3...item256a1d3496
atari disks are usually very loud....

sometimes you can get scsi drives converted to 19pin atari standart with bigger capacity

good source for vintage atari gear is ebay.de
type: atari festplatte

good example: scsi cd-rom and hard disk combo converted to 19pin atari http://www.ebay.de/itm/Atari-ST-CD-R...item256a1d3e31

This is what i have:

Atari Megafile 30

also works:
Atari Megafile 60

But they are really loud, not to be recommended. Better use a HXC Floppy Emulator or a external SD Card reader from scsi4samplers

All the best,
SP

Thank you Martin 78 & The Crates

Still looking for the best alternative to that....like ZIP drive or some sort of card reader...otherwise I will buy the Atari Drive.

Does anyone knows where can I get DMA (atari) to SCSI adapter or some schematics for DIY?

"The Link II" is unavailable and too expensive.

Best,

Gregor
