Favourite synths for dubstep and house

Hey,

just wondering what your go-to synths for Dubstep and House are, and if you have any particular sounds or presets you find yourselves always returning to. I'm lacking inspiration right now and need some suggestions for new sounds and plugins to use!

Hey man Spectrasonics Omnisphere is out of this world. The amount of material included will leave you busy for years/decades to come, I mean it takes years just learning the power of the software. I don't know what your price range is however I would highly recommend it.
It suits any type of music imaginable as well as the more commercial side of music, such as film, tv, radio, commercials or whatever.

I can't say enough about it man the quality of the patches and sounds is insane and the possibilities are limitless. One of the most powerful virtual synths out there if not THE most powerful

Dcam, tricky to get the hang of, but more than worth it when you do. Presets are piss poor considering what it can do, imo.

I don't play either type of music, but some say the Roland Alpha Juno is good, especially for the "hoover sound" and acid bass lines...
They go for cheap due to lack of UI- $200-250 US

Massive or Sylenth are what most of these commercial dance music producers seem to use (although I recently read Skrillex uses FM8).

+1 for Omnisphere though! That's my go-to synth for pretty much all dance music sounds now.

1. Omnisphere - Just limitless.
2. Trilian (lots of analog goodness here that you won't find in Omnisphere - perfect for your chosen genres)
3. DCAM Synth Squad.
4. UHe Ace - Unbelievable for the price.
5. Waldorf Largo : Digital bliss.

Massive is incredibly versatile .. it will give you dirty grime or smooth keys, my favourite in my folder.

I have others but if there is one that I always use it's M.

Why are questions about what is a good starter whatever always questions about dubstep and (progressive)house? Its never just one or the other. If you like dubstep you must also like house? I am confused.

Obviously. Where would trance be without dnb? Like two peas in a pod so they are.

Back your question though (and I might have this wrong about the OP), what the Dubstep kids call House these days is otherwise known as UK Funky [house]. Has teh wawblez of Dubstep and the shuffle of house.
Or they may just love proper House and Dubstep.

Massive, ACE, Strobe, Cypher, Sylenth1, Nexus (for pads, plucks and acoustic-ish stuff)

Only new synth that has sparked my interest is Razor, looking forward to getting myself a copy after buying Komplete 8
