Thread Starter | No sir! No sales here! Im so glad I kept it especially after learning that Virus is getting not ONE, but TWO more envelopes! We are also getting some new filters! There are some other great treats in store for the Virus TI2! I love this company! Look for Virus TI OS5. It might make you keep it! Omnisphere can not hang with the Virus at all.

Very wise decision ! Don't sell your Virus Ti2. I once considered selling my Virus Ti keyboard, (a very stupid idea it was), but I'm so glad I kept it, and ended up getting a second Virus Ti2 desktop I'm hooked on the Viruses. They just get better with time. By the way, if you layer two or more parts on your Virus (i.e. two different parts set to the same midi channel), you can get a lot of new interesting sounds, that one part alone doesn't offer, I also tend to layer two parts that have differing basses to get some HUGE sounding, and very punchy bass sounds. The sonic potential of the virus is very wide, it takes time to discover its magic ! Although Layering sounds can eat up polyphony (fast), this was one of the reasons I added a second Virus Ti2 desktop to my setup. Looking forward to OS-5 Cheers, Muziksculp

My little monster! You are so true...all I have to do is layer two sounds, sometimes four(when spaced out) and the magic is there! Sent from my PC36100 using Gearslutz.com |

No synth can replace a virus. Everytime i sell mine, i want it again. I still prefer the virus A and B to any other model though.

I have to say I've played with the virus many times and it just doesn't sound "right" to me. There is something really sterile about its sound that I dislike. Personal taste I guess.

The Virus can be 'virusy' sounding but I think a lot of that is just the presets. Try digging into it, stacking sounds with gentle modulations on the same midi channel with different soft chords/arps for those pads you might be after...

Don't sell it man. Sometimes I feel it takes a bit of digging to get the sound I want, but when I get there I realize it's sonic power and how unique it is compared to most other software synths.

i've been thinking of selling my Virus C recently. Just have no arguable reason to keep it. As i use laptop as a sequencer and drum sampler in my setup, there's no reason not to use Zebra to replace Virus: it sounds awesome, sometimes even more pleasant than Virus, programming is simpler when you can see all current controls of recalled preset, and when it comes to play live you can program awesome meta-controls in a form of four XY-controllers, which are more powerful than Virus' assignable pair of knobs. Mojo in a Virus? Can't see one. It is really the greatest VA workhorse, but Zebra is a different animal ) |

| Gear maniac | Not so "off" topic, because i used to play them before Virus. They definitely have their character, some people may like it, but in my opinion it is not an instruments one must have, just if you get them - you definitely can use it. I preferred MFB Krafzwerg to them, just because it is semi-modular and small, and have lower noise level )) And then a sold it and got a Virus. And now i'm thinking of selling Virus and getting Zebra. ))

I've got Zebra, now i'm really getting rid of Virus C. Not a fair comparison, because the Zebra can do all stuff Virus can and much more. But a great soundcard is a must for it. |
