Thread Starter | I ran 220v through my 110v tr-909 :(
I guess for about 3 seconds as a pulled the plug out after 909 making noise. Do you think I may not have give it damage? I did not see any smoke but maybe smelled I tiny bit something from it. Thanks |

Not to come off sounding like an expert but it is probably ok, dunno how the powersupply looks like but the components in there are the ones taking the hit and if it's got regulators those would be the first to blow. But since everything is fine you got lucky! |

cool, so either its blown or its okay - nothing in between. It felt like it was plugged in for about 3 - 4 seconds, but it was probably between 1 or 2 seconds |

give the outside a good clean first (not with the heavy duty fluid - just mild detergent) turn it off of course then work the pots a couple of times - it's dust if that doesn't help - invest in new pots lubricants like deoxit are a quick fix |

The crackling sound on the knobs is dust accumulated during the years, you have to open it up and spray some Caig deoxit in the pots, then turn the shaft back and forth several times, problem solved....

Done the same a couple times (moved back and forth between Europe-USA-Europe), a Yamaha QX1 Sequencer - some pops then white smoke and smell. Some year later a Behringer ADA8000 - some pops no smoke but smell.

Yes, if it power up it's no problem. If not, it´s probably "just" the power supply that is fried and that is not the same thing the the whole machine is out.
