Thread Starter | Looking for help achieving this droning type sound Netherfriends- Bret Easton Ellis Novel - YouTube Great song, but what really gets me is some of the awesome noises at the beginning. He uses similar stuff in almost all of his tracks. I'm pretty learned in regards to sampling, looping, et cetera, but for the life of me I can't recreate that really nice soundscape type white noise. Obviously, I don't want to completely replicate what he did here and probably won't be able to, I'd still like to be able to know what process he achieved it with (looping, sampling, synth, etc.) Can anyone help me out? |

Do you think that it's manipulated in any way other than the delay, slicing, and looping?

Either way, Extreme Sound Stretch is great for creating drones from elements already in your track |

I wasn't talking specifically about that sound, but more of the orchestral samples that you guys are hearing. Let's say I were to find an old film soundtrack and sample it, how would I go about making that kind of sound with it?

| you would slow down the playback speed of the sample or timestretch it. that paulstretch program is a fantastic tool for such a purpose and it's free.
