Akai sampler - no sound w/V2 OS?

I'm using an Akai S3200XL. The original operating system works fine. But when I load the V2 operating system from a diskette, there is no sound. I've tried just about every setting in there but I haven't had any luck yet. There's got to be something I'm missing...

Did you then load in some samples?

Of course. The only difference I'm seeing between OS V1 and V2 is that V2... has no sound.

have you checked that the samples have been mapped properly within the program?

The S3200xl loads a default program with some basic waveforms when you boot up. No need for mapping or loading extra samples to hear the default program.

I try to both play samples, and go to the Sample page and press 'Ent/Play' and there's no sound. Maybe I'll try loading the OS onto the floppy disk again and see if that helps...

Hmm... I've got the OS package, you can check it here: http://homepage.mac.com/siego/akaizo...3200XLV200.zip

But every time I try and put this on a floppy it gives me 'write error'

Have you tried to make the disk on a computer running Windows 95 or 98 ?
You might have difficulty with newer operating systems.

I actually had to make a DOS boot disk. I booted directly into DOS, ran the program, then put in the floppy with OSMAKER and the Akai OS file, loaded it up and selected the OS version, then popped in a blank diskette and it works perfectly.

Just thought I'd leave a note for anyone else having trouble with it.
