Vermona DRM1/TBS Syncussion DRM1 + step sequencer?

Hi GS,

i was wondering if there was a real cheap hardware step sequencer that fits the DRM1 really well. i got a messed up electribe that messes up the midi sync and don't have all sounds assigned, so that's not working properly. That's why i'm searching for an alternative.

Anybody some ideas?

Cheers,

PS: if somebody knows how to fix the electribe, that would ace too!

Put your DRM1 into 'map mode' and remap the drum sounds midi notes to your liking on the electribe.

Electribe should work fine, no need to spend more $ since what you have should work perfectly fine.

To learn how to map the drum sounds/midi channel etc...

thanks mate!

This need to work indeed. Gonna try it out a.s.a.p. Hope the electribe won't **** up the midi syncing. Sometimes it has instantly + ms delay or - ms delay after it worked a while.
Maybe somebody knows what this problem is all about

I used to use an ER-1 to sequence my Vermona DRM II. The problem with the ER 1 is that it doesn't have separate velocity each part, only accents that affect all parts. I don't know the EMX, but being a later model it should have velocity for eac part / sequece line. Much of the versatility of the Vermona DRM lies in the velocity. EG, big difference in, say, in a kick sound with velocity at 100 and 127!

I know the MPC1000 doesn't really count as a step sequencer (you can program it step wise though)...but it is a joy to program beats with! and my experience with the MPC plus the DRM MK11 leads me to thinking they are perfectly matched, the 16 levels button on the MPC gives you instant access to 16 velocity levels of the last pad/sound you just played and as someone else stated the DRM responds to velocity very well. The MPC1000 syncs perfect to every system i tried it with so far. You can pick up an MPC1000 for a great price second hand at the moment.

Yeah it's not a step sequencer but I too loved the DRM1 + MPC combo.
