Thread Starter | What could be wrong with me Roland MC 505?
Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone here has experience in repairing/servicing the Roland MC 505. I bought one used a couple of years back and before I had the chance to put it to serious use it seemed to partially die. The unit still powers up just fine although the LCD screen is almost completely unreadable, which I know is a common problem. The biggest issue is that it doesn't generate any sound from the outputs aside from a slowly building static that oscillates slightly. All MIDI functions still work, e.g. it can still be used to sequence external hardware. But that's pretty much it. It's been suggested that the power supply, which is internal might be slowly shitting itself and not giving the unit the proper juice it needs. Any ideas/suggestions? I've love to get this unit up and working again. Thanks in advance! - Dr. Daniel X Defence Mechanism |
