Is there anything else that can use VSTs live like the muse receptor (but less expensive) that can be put into a rack? i dont want to carry a computer with me everytime i play.

There is V-Rack, which hasn't been released yet (for quite a while now). The original VMachine has been criticized for being underpowered. I don' t know how good these really are.

If you like the Receptor but don't need something that elaborate, the same company makes a smaller and much more affordable version - the Musebox:

MuseBox - effects processor, sound module, synthesizer and more

ooh ive never seen the v rack before, that might be a solution.

the musebox however, is rumored to have a price of 900 bucks thats a little too steep for me still :(.

are there any other standalone vst players?
