Work Arounds for FL Studio's Mixer (MIDI)

If you use FL Studio, you know that the mixer's solo/mute buttons are NOT midi mappable. I've been thoroughly trying to figure out a workaround (infact, usually when you google fl studio solo/mute variations, my questions are the first to pop up)

The only way I'm seeing how to get around it is using a mute plugin. FL Studio comes with a mute plugin that, well, mutes the channel. I can easily MIDI map this to one of my controllers buttons and mute the channel. However, and this HAS to be extremely simple, I can't wrap my head around how to turn this muting plugin into a soloing plugin. It's like a stupid block in my head, and I feel like the answers on the tip of my tongue.

Anyway, can someone please point me in the right direction of how'd I'd go about turn FL's mute plugin into a soloing plugin via automation, OR, any other way.
