Help on this type of synth

quick little question. I'm curious what kind of synths these sounds are. I feel silly because they might just be supersaw's but I cant tell if they are something different. I have two examples that sound different but may be the same thing...if I'm making any sense at all lol

The first one starts at 5:51
‪Skrillex and Porter Robinson Interview 2011 - Episode 43‬‏ - YouTube

The second one is the sound that comes on at 1:26
‪SKRILLEX - Kill EVERYBODY‬‏ - YouTube

I really like making electro-house similar to these examples but I havent incorporated these high supersaw sounding breakdowns and I am really just curious if they are your average run of the mill supersaws or if there is more to it

thx!

Yes, they are. However, compressing them to mush with a low attack (that's the click you hear in example nr. 2) helps.

ok cool that makes sense. I make most of my supersaws in Sylenth. Does it matter how many voices I have or is really just all about compressing the crap out of it?

thanks yoozer

Don't turn up the detune knob too much, make sure that the phase button is off so they don't all start at the same phase, and set the unison to 3 or 4 - that'll be enough.
