Thread Starter | Where can I find some Cheesy 90s sounds?
So I'm trying to do some 90s RnB style tracks ala Bel Biv DeVoe and such. I'm trying to find some of the cheesy 90s style sounds they used ala Orchestra Stabs and what not. Any advice?

Orchestra stabs are literally everywhere. Cheesy 90s sounds were just very basic synth sounds so shouldnt be hard to come across. |

E-MU Planet Phatt or Mo Phatt should do the trick. btw modern RnB is a lot more cheesy. |

Try old EMU libraries... Roland S-700 libraries. For the xtra cheese, the sound should just be a hit on one key transposed up and down. Not multisampled every 2-3 notes... and certainly not one new sample for every note or velocity xfades. It's probably a MPC60/3000 doing the transposition, 1 sample in. More often than not. |

Roland MC-303. Or, if you have access to a JV/XP synth and can get a hold of the 'Dance' expansion card, there's enough cheese on that to inspire the next Vegans Revolt. |

A lot of that stuff can be found on old sample CDs, like the ZeroG collection
