Looking for feedback on a (?) house track

hey guys first a big thank you to the guys who helped me out in the kick thread i posted, you helped me out a lot this kick sounds way better than my prior ones.

I'm just trying to get some feedback about the balance/mix of everything and some general thoughts or ideas about it in any other areas, its first time i put a track out in public for people other than like school/friends/etc and i know there are people here with a ton of experience and gear (duh GEARsluts) so please no murder lol

Also what genre would you put this in with i know house but there are so many subgenres

thanks in advance for anyone who checks it out

Nice!
I'd say its like an electro house tune, although its not quite spastic like mord fustang or something.

I like the melody, but I was starting to get bored a little. Personally I like a change about every 16 bars. a new hi hat, a different snare, an fx track, something, so that way the mix is always changing. With my own music, I try to do the same, but try to make the new parts as un-noticable as possible, that way if the listener doesnt pay as much attention then suddenly does, it will blow their minds a little.

But I'm rambling. That's up to you.
Have fun

thank you guys and I already kind oof thought it might be too long or too repititave I think part of the problem is when new drum sounds come in as it goes on they come in during parts where other things are already kind of loud so u don't notice them as much, and thanks on the genre too I called it electro cause a lot of my fav artists are but I wondered if it wasn't hard enough

One question on the bass I have the lowpass filter on the synth open up real slow across the whole track do u think it would be better to leave it at the same spot during the whole track?

Hey guys I'm sorry for bumping my own post but I was showing it to a friend of mine and got into a discussion on if the beginning / end can work for being played by a DJ

So if there is anyone here who is a DJ or knows many of them could you tell me what you think on that subject?

Thank you again so much in advance

Hi,

Got your PM.

... Good work. Very catchy melody.

Nice work with the synths. Work around each other nicely. Everything has its own space.

Don't worry too much about the DJs... if anything, you've gone too far to appease them... you have like a minute long intro of just beats. Don't be scared to start bringing in music earlier.

The most obvious tip I can think to give you is to use more automation. If you modulate the filter cut-off so it starts with a near-closed low-pass... then gradually open it to the current state, you will maintain interest for longer.

To be honest, I find this current bass synth a little too full-on/in-your-face. Which is a shame because as I say, the melody is really strong.

I recommend you buy yourself a Juno 106 (or an earlier one that's had a midi kit fitted to it.), and then put in some serious hours listening to Metro Area to hear how this synth can sound in the hands of some masters... I think you have a similar musical sensibility to these guys.
