There are midi adapters that are sold to convert the sync input on those to midi. Just make sure you have one on both. Maybe you can use one adapter for both!!!

yer i have one on the way for the 303, but i thought i could work round it somehow by syncing the 303 to the 909 and the 909's midi to the comp, seems like it should be possible

TR-909 has MIDI (so does all current gear, and your computer)
TB-303 has DIN Sync (along with a very slim amount of other gear from 30+ years ago)

There is NO WAY for you to sync the 303 without a converter. You need a MIDI to DIN Sync converter.

The TR909 also has din-sync in, but not out.

Unfortunately, Roland saw fit to include a Din Sync IN only on the 909, and not out. It makes sense to think right off the bat that you can sync these 2 together, but Roland had the last laugh.

Stick a din cable halfway in on the 303 and it will become the master, and the 909 will sync to it. A handy little tip for those who don't know that.

Maybe things would have been different if the 303 wasn't still being a failure when the 909 came out.

i always assumed that the 909 had din sync out (never seen one). what all did people use back in the day...msqs and such? cant imagine many ran the 303 as a master..

Roland SBX-10 or 80, or a Korg KMS-30 will do the job...and of course Kenton boxes.

you have to turn the big tempo dials so they are running at the same bpm and hit start on both units at the same time. thats what i used to do
