Rob,

Would you mind to share some other tips straight from the 303-master?

Has your way of working with the TB-303 changed significantly during the years?

E.g. when recording the 303 lines for Acid Science masterpieces, did you program all pattern or pitch changes as a track (in track mode) or are those also played purely in pattern mode while doing all knob-twiddling? Do you do it differently nowadays (with 303 and ABL2)?

How about writing the patterns back then and now? Evolution of the effect chain for the 303 and why?

Send a message via ICQ to RobAcid
back then, everything was just live improvised, so ofcorse every pattern change was just done in realtime.

and the chain in very different today, in the past i did not had a clue about compression, the way we did it was by overdriving the mixer, a natural way of compress stuff.

these days, i have full access to many tools, and i know what i am doing.
maybe i should do a rob acid record again, just for fun....

Yes, in my opinion you definitely should make an excursion back in time to tracks like Crush and D-9-5 you released as Colone.
