Perhaps it's a niche a company like reKon audio could dive into, it would fit between their other software.

ah it looks like it already has panels for most of my synths. no kawai k4r, though. just the k4 keyboard version.

anyone know if there's a place with panels anywhere?

The issue I had was that I somehow knew that the software was illegal (which i didn't). I stay away from hackware as well as "educational" software since I'm not a student.
It does speak to a moral principle, and ultimately effects the development of IP in many cases, but also the ultimate cost. It's like downloading music for free. Apple as it turns out does legally own the copyright on that software. Sound Diver doesn't exactly dovetail with Logic and a virtual synth environment, so strategically, they have the right to neutralize it for 70 years. I just find that kind of thing counter supportive in terms of the spirit of art and music production, and in some ways steering of choices. The other issue is that when a company solicits support from consumers by asking them to invest in their product, they should also realize that the consumers that end up with the software invest in some cases, priceless creative input and time, as well as trust in doing so that the platform they are riding on will be there for them to sustain that personal investment and also to preserve their ability to recall and further develop that creative media. So, this is an all too familiar scenario.

I don't think anyone is going to argue with you about that! Now you can imagine how I felt when Apple bought EMagic and stopped the PC side of the business. That only one month after I bought all new versions of Logic and SoundDiver, a new PC, three brand new AMT-8 and a used Unitor-8!

I could say that I am lucky that the AMT-8s are still supported on the Mac!

That's another thing: they do it to you = you HAVE to EAT it.

And this is done over and over by many companies in this little to non-customer protection industry.

It is however impossible to prove that this downloadable patch is illegal or not.
To be clear: THE LINK WAS JUST THE DOWNLOADABLE PATCH, NOT SOUNDDIVER ITSELF.
If you contact the seller, he tells you it's a a cracked full installation(SoundDiver 3 + 3.05 patch)
I have it straight from the horses mouth.
