Axiom 25 with Reason 5

Anyone else get this combo to work together? I just picked up an Axiom 25 for on the go work but I can't figure out how to get the knobs or transpose settings to work... It's no good for me if the play, pause, or record buttons don't work for me.

Anyone with better luck?

Read the manuals!! Both for Reason and your Axiom.

Read the chapter on midi mapping in the Reason manual, and get to know your controller. This is easy stuff in about a 5 minute read.

literally a matter of a few clicks and knob twiddles. Might need to correctly map your axiom, so again, read the manual.

I was using an oxygen 49 with reason for a few years, worked fine. Make sure you've selected the correct settings in the 'keyboard & controller' menu in preferences.

Is Reason up to date? Have you installed the latest drivers? Have you properly assigned the controller in preferences? More info, please

ok i'll tell u what to do
when u go to preferences, and go to keyboard section, chose AUTO-DETECT SURFACES, it will chose your keyboard with no problem
if that doesn't work, delete all the keyboards that are there, click on add, then chose OTHER, and at the bottom press FIND, and click on your keyboard so it finds it, but with this second method, u gotta map all the keys and controls with reason manually

and i forgot to say, when u do the first auto detect step, reason over writes your keyboard's preset 10, make sure to recall that preset when u r on reason

Heh I've read the Reason manual extensively, I've been using the software for the better half of this year and my MPK61 had no problems, I'll try updating firmware on my Axiom, and auto-detect doesn't work, I manually put it in under USB and only the keyboard AND pads work, the other stuff won't even let me override with midi mapping.

Thanks guys :D just wanna make sure they'll work together.

There's gotta be an easier way than having to manually set my transpose every time I open a new project file... :u UGH why does the M-Audio Axiom have to be more difficult than my MPK61... that thing was a cinch!
