Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude check it out. I invented this new instrument. I took a really expensive midi guitar and hooked up to a drum sampler. How dank is that?

I brought it from the future.

Man - I've read that through twice and I'm supposing that if someone was to give a performer a hard time for not being able to actually compose and perform in real time rather than simply compose... I'm guessing you'd be pretty unimpressed The performance gets in the way of the music which supposes the music is good enough but you're unimpressed with all that craft and practice/performance/ability type stuff... yeah... well I might use that as a signature... lol
you didn't watch the video or have no real idea about improvisation. HE'S PLAYING LOOPS
that means all his talk about improvisation and live composition are just that, talk. he's just triggering loops and playing along to them on his wind controller. the music isn't that horrible, but his performance is. it has so much wire hanging all over the place, blinken lights and displays, and spastic movement that it really detracts/distracts from the music he's trying to not really present. he's gone out of his way to try to disguise the fact that he's faking most of his "live" performance. "look nothing up my sleeve" time here. and getting on ted is not that big a deal especially in the "art" catagory.

my point is that he's more worried about starting a new genre (which he hasn't even come close to) and showing off his tech apparatus to disguise the fact he's a loop laptop performer, that he doesn't really bother with the music as much as he should.

No......that music is physical. You would have a hard time scrunched up in front of the puter and come out with that.I personally dont recommend live electroniq performance but hes got an interesting angle and people love watching this stuff.But-its bassically jazz funk lol: ]

He's creating the loops. He plays a beat, melody or rhythm in real-time, then when he's satisfied it fits he assigns it as a loop then goes on to the next spiel.

This is as live as it gets in terms of electronic music. Whether you like it or not is another thing but don't accuse it falsely.
