Drum processing VST´s

Im currently looking to spend some money on a new set of VST´s, mainly cuz im looking to widen my selection when processing drums. I´ve been looking into the Waves Renaissance Maxx bundle. Any recommendations?

Waves is overpriced for what it is. There's lots of companies out there that do the same thing, but better and for cheaper.

IMO what you want is D16 decimort. That emulates the bit crushing, aliasing, and distortion of old samplers like the MPC. It sounds wicked.
Very cheap too, and it sounds fantastic.

Camel Phat by Camel Audio; certainly worth a demo. Alchemy (their sample manipulation mega synth) has the same effects and much more but it does not process audio in real time.

'drum processing' is pretty vague. what kind of processing? are you talking mainly dynamics? do you have the Variety of Sound plugs? IMO those will get you way further with drums than the waves ren pack. they're better quality and they're free.

Stilwell's Rocket and Audio Damage's Rough Rider Pro are both great for EDM drum compression.

I'd go with the Sonnox bundle, they're awesome. Other good ones I use are the Waves SSL bundle and yeah the Renaissance pack is great too. Also Waves TransX Multi is a great tool for shaping drums.

+1 on D16 Decimort, great plugin for drums. As is Fazortan for hats and loops.

The Fabfilter stuff is nice, ProC, ProQ, Timeless and Volcano, as is a lot of the Audio Damage stuff, try the Ratshack Reverb. Stillwell Transient Monster is great as well.

You don't mention what daw your on but since your on mac if your using logic I get a lot of good results out of SpaceDesigner with weird and experimental ir's, try it. Also AmpDesigner works wonders on a send.

I always say it you should pick up TAL Dub II and King Dubby, both free tape delays, and Massy TapeHead Medium.

Soundtoys are some of the best but pricey.

You didn't really say what type of processing.

The D16 stuff is all good, apart from redopter, for distortion/shaping. I'm amazed no-one mentions Ohmforce stuff

Ohm Force :: les cuisines du Ohm Studio

Now that's a distortion plug in.

Brainworx Dyn Eq is another that's never suggested but one of the best. imo
