Thread Starter | microwave battery holder repair
I need to replace the battery holder for the cr2016 battery inside my Waldorf microWave (Rev.B) The silver contact stem that secures the top of the battery down, is broken. Has anyone attempted this before? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. ![]() the red part is the broken part... |

its easy, just replace the holder with a modern one. The new battery clips in, rather than solder on, like the old ones. [edit] actually not sure if they are soldered on the uWave... but anyway, its still a very easy job... dont sweat it, you'll be fine. |

replace the complete holder I found one at rapid... but your side of the pond (assuming youre in the states) I would look at mouser. http://www.mouser.com/ http://www.rapidonline.com/ choose the new battery - then choose the holder for the battery. |

holders: Rapid Electronics - Electrical & Power > Batteries i used this one before: Rapid Electronics - Electrical & Power > Batteries battery: Rapid Electronics - Electrical & Power > Batteries sorry to give you rapidonline links, I'm UK based, Im sure they prob have a stateside outfit though ... I just find their site easier to navigate than mouser. worst case scenario is you can buy from there if you cant find the same at mouser - but Im sure you can |

alternatively you could just solder the stem back, it ought to get you going again. But if it was me, i would just replace the whole thing, its cheap, its easy and satisfying to know youve done it properly

Thank you for the details. I will have to see how the holder is connected to the board when I get home.
