![]() And I edited because it was coming across too jerky for my intentions. I evidently have really bad online etiquette so I try to police myself better. Just imagine one of your 'mates giving you a hard time, or telling you you're full of it--that was the intention.

I was lightheartedly teasing you with the Matrix comment, it was a piss-take you walked right into to be fair, and yet you took it seriously and got all defensive. This is why you've been asked to relax. You don't have to be right on this one...

| What are these points I'm missing? Please summarize as if you were talking to a moronic five year old with attention deficit disorder. No big words please.

What is obvious is that we had an interesting debate going but for some reason you were sticking to some imagined viewpoint which doesn't exist except in your imagination, this unfortunately weakened the discussion. Here in super-abridged form is the merry conclusion to our debate: We all understand the basic concepts of subtractive synthesis. Some of us prefer to carefully synthesize using deep menu-diving. Some of us prefer to spontaneously synthesize using real-time control. Some like both methods and have no particular preference. ...and we all lived happily ever after. The end.

I agree with that perspective. But not all synths are created equal; nor are our needs and what we want our music to sound like. A Korg PS3100 may be one man's godhead synth, and another man's junk. Same with a Matrix 6 or anything else. Synths are like pizza--even when they're bad they're pretty good. They all have uses. But that doesn't mean I want to spend my money on 'em all. Best, |

haha...nicely put. This is sig-material. In all my synth-playing/collecting there is only one I never gave the time of day to (Redsound Darkstar) and kind of regret it...every synth deserves at least a little play before being moved to the next guy. Synths have feelings too...

| DarkStar was incredibly cheap. It offered a lot for the cost, although I'd probably never get one. I'm a gear snob and proud of it.
