Hi Xavier, First of all, FANTASTIC work with your softsynths; I think you are absolutely top of the field right now! Quote:
Thanks for your assistance... but this is exactly what I have been trying... as detailed in my posts above. I can get DCAM to work in this way, but when I put Xils-3 (LE) in exactly the same slot with the same set-up, I cannot make it work. When you say 'Within the XILS 3 windows, select your audio track (or the other intrument track) in the sidechain menu.', I assume that you do mean the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the Logic frame around the Xils-3 GUI?... You are not talking about a different menu actually buried in the GUI itself are you? As I set it up, I hear nothing, then when I send a midi note, I just hear the synth as if I'd opened it as an instrument (though it is DEFINITELY opened as a midi-controlled effect.). I've tried turning down the oscillator level (so I no longer hear a note when midi is sent, and I have tried messing with the settings in the input menu. It just feels like I need to flick a switch somewhere on the GUI that I'm missing? Do I need to set up something in the matrix... or should it just work immediately? | |

Thanks for your kind words Simonator, Yes that's it : the dropdown menu on the top right corner. And I just retested it with the last LE version. It seems that there is a problem (seems to depend of the track, stereo, mono) I will make some more test (with the full also ) : I know it has been worked properly but I didn't test it with the last version. And come back to you Best regards |

Okay... so after 5 hours of messing around, I've just established that whilst DCAM will filter an external audio signal, it will not process a stereo signal. Is LOGIC Sidechain ONLY mono? DCAM filtering external stereo audio> outputting mono So, presently, it seems like neither DCAM or Xils-3 will function as a stereo filter. |

I can kind of understand that, though. The DCAM synths, being analog-type synths, don't have fully stereo signal paths (unlike, say, Zebra). You don't get into stereo with DCAM until you start panning voices (which are, in themselves, still mono) or hitting the dual filters in Cypher which have a spread control.
