Thread Starter | Jan Hammer miami vice ludwig / gresch snare samples?
I was hopeful if someone can point me in the direction of some good ludwig or gresch snare samples. i read that jan hammer used gresch snare samples for his miami vice soundtrack. i would like to find something similar. cheers |

Tbh., I don't think you have to worry too much about what brand of kit was originally sampled, the sound comes from the mixing. It's the 80ies compressed and gated snare/gated verb thing, I think almost any good acoustic snare sample could be used.

yeah, i can do the gates snare and compression etc. but i haven't a single decent acoustic snare sample for free on the web. i downloaded almost all the acousting samples from the freesound website. most of the snares sound so weak! when you put compression, eq and gated reverb, they have no power what so ever. is there any websites with decent free acoustic snare samples? |
