Ridgefarm The Bolier

I think I may have just got a bargain??

A Ridgefarm Bolier compressor for £400?? So thats about $650 which seems pretty good as Thomann have them at nearly £900 new. This thing looks minty and I do love an aggressive comp.

Any thoughts or experience?

Awesome compressor for Hip Hop drums, works better on slower tracks imo.

It can make drums sound punchy, smooth or gritty.

Cheers for the responses.

So is the price about right or a steal as no one seems to have a bad thing to say about, apart from possibly its quite limited.

The boiler turned up today!!!

It's absolutely mint. I think it's an early version, slightly different colour and with turned aluminum knobs. Serial B0099 or something close (it went straight in the rack)

It sounds great but I am finding it tricky to set.

Any tips? I don't have the manual but while the controls are pretty self explanatory I'm not quite getting the setup yet.

Is it the black face one? Those are even meaner.
I'm still lusting for one. It's the "compressor that got away".
