Yeah, that's obvious with ANY piece of equipment - however, the OP started a thread about the 3000. That's like going on a thread started about a JP8 and steering the discussion to the JP6; it's just not the same piece of equipment - not even close. Yes, great music has been made on ALL MPCs, but it would be nice to hear from 3K users about how they're rocking their machines. The 3K has both pros and cons compared to other MPCs, and it's those limitations we have on the machine that steers us to different techniques. It's part of the inherent charm of the machine, much like the SP1200. Sometimes limitations are just what the 'creative dr' ordered.

Wasn't attacking you, just expressing an opinion like you. My jets are 'cooled'

The ability to load and save your samples and sequences to an external drive. My MPC-60 is hooked up to a SCSI card reader that uses CF cards.

Dumping samples directly to your computer via SCSI (SMDI) is not supported.

Is this the kind of info you were after?

load time is seconds, anywhere from 5-20 secs, depending on what you're uploading. I guess even 20 secs would be extreme. anyway, you cannot load (or perform any disk functions, for that matter) while the track is playing.

apparently my card reader has finally left uk customs. sweet. even bought some disks while I was waiting and knocked up my first mpc-centric track, plays very well with my synths. New album is on the way a lot quicker now!

Hi, is it possible to mimic this with a mpc3000?

I mean apply an envelope to a continuous loop instead of trigger a static sample. Thanks

You can do similar things by assigning sample start to velocity or the fader and programming variations in the sequencer.

Rohan Mansell's OS for the 3000 is fantastic! It may not seem like a lot but it really refines the 3000 and makes it work faster.

Mansell wrote me to confirm that he is testing the audio outputs of the mpc300 to see if the existing outputs
will be suitable for reliable held DC control signals and the range they
can can operate over for CV Gate . I dont know. I think that sounds ****ing awesome. No midi to cv conversion box. CV gate straight out of the mpc.
