TR-909 Battery Case Missing & Clap problem

Just bought a TR-909 from Ebay, it looks great, excellent condition minimal scratches, still haven't fired up (just walked in the door with it).

After going through the manual it says there's should be batteries under the battery cover. the battery cover looks brand new very shiny, not sure if it original, but inside there is no battery case and it looks like it has been unsoldered.

Your battery holder is missing, it's usually a metal rectangular box (it sits on risers), those two screws you see in the second picture are where it should be.

Take the 909 backplate off (underside lid) and see if the battery connector (+/- clip) with the wires has fallen inside somewhere.

You may need to rig up a new battery holder and attach it to the underside of the 909's backplate. Without batteries in, your 909 will not store any patterns.

Cheers thanks for that, the other thing that's worrying me is the clap is it a hard thing to fix sounds dodgy to me like it's missing the snappy part of the clap at the start and only the tail is playing?

It looks like the board under the batteries has seen some major damage.
All of those red wires are there because the PCB traces have been corroded. The battery holder was probably removed because it would have been in very bad condition with that much battery leak damage.

cheers

The clap sounds like it needs the reverb tuned down.
There is an internal pot to do this.

Looks Like I'm going to have to put this in for a service then.

The clap sound is very quiet compared to the rest of the sounds as well.

Oh well I guess you win some and loose some.

Did you try adjusting the wet/dry pot inside ?

Hey guys, my 909 got fixed and was sounding great but after moving interstate the bad sounds back but now a little worse.

The clap sound is very muffled and the ride cannot be heard at all.
I'll post samples in the next couple of days, but here's my problem.

I want a perfect 909, so I want to sell this one, I bought it for 1500 AUD and spent 100 on it to fix it plus bout the rev ROM to fix the midi timing and had that installed so that was probably 50 bus or so.

Do you think it's best to get it fixed again and sell it on eBay or locally as I feel it's probably quite fragile or sell it as is?

What's the realistic price for fixing and selling and selling without fixing?
