Turning program changes to note value?

I have a looper that requires note values to trigger functions. I'm using the behringer fcb, but it's way too big.

I want to translate program changes to note values. I know the MIDI Solutions "Event Processor" does this. Is there anything else similar to it?

What DAW are you using? I have an apc40 and I know a few folks have wrote scripts that enable it to work in note mode (without the use of Max) in Ableton Live. Perhaps if you use Ableton as well someone has made some for other devices or just general MIDI devices as a whole.

you can do this w/ logic's transformer object in the environment

I was hoping to stick with a hardware solution for this, as to not introduce latency. My looper is hardware and synced via midi pulse, so I don't want to throw off my timing.
