Completed song in 2 hours. ? !

Here is it. The best we could squeeze into 2 hours - from initial concept, all writing, recording, mixing to final mastering. We spent a little extra time on the mix, with JD doing most of that work, and I tweaking the master, so really we are looking at 2.5 hours.

STILL... creativity is one thing (this was an experiment and never meant to be "good"), but fitting the TIME in to do the things needed to make a completed song simply does not fit within two hours! Unless you are doing solo acoustic guitar and singing or something. I now feel due to physics, 4 hours is probably the absolute minimum required to complete a multi-tracked song finished, and radio ready. 8 hours is a more realistic completion time frame. Mind you, we made EVERYTHING up on the spot, started at zero for everything for this experiment. (and it shows hahaha) There are way too many uncompleted items*, glitches, and fails to bother going over here.
But it was a very successful experiment, and I think we did alright in the end. And this is a great skeleton to work and build on if we wanted.

It is not easy but I recommend trying it for fun!

*Auto tuning, many more vocals, drum programming, ending chorus missing, extra synth parts etc etc etc

Some geeky background:

Recorded on a MAC and Digital Performer 7
iDrum pattern for the drums
Korg Legacy Monopoly main bass line
something else for the chords I forget (maybe monopoly again or MoPho)
UAD card effects
At4035 mic ( I think)
me singing, no auto tune, but the plan was to abuse the robot sound

Enjoy!
