quiet output on my e6400?

Hi guys

So I've been using with great satisfaction an e-mu e6400 for a while now but there's something that's always kind of bugged me. Compared to any of my synths it's got a very quiet output, to the point where I have to give it lots of gain on my mixer's preamps just to get it to a useable level.

Which is alright I guess but I'd like to run it through some standalone filters I have but putting such a quiet signal through the filter produces a not so good signal to noise ratio, especially when I give it the necessary gain at the mixer...

Is there some kind of low/medium/high level option inside the e6400 somewhere, or is there something wrong with my sampler, or is this just the nature of the machine? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks slutz!

well I've just had a bit of an RTFM moment guys...I'm trying out a few things with the output options like headroom and output boost. I'll let you know if I'm still having troubles.

i'm sure you've figured it by now!! - as you've said; output options, level, headroom. Boost level and then headroom to compensate.
