ART TPS II on Main Insets?
Hi

looking to warm up the sound of my synths and keys and possibly add some distortion to my leads. A local music store recommended that I run a tube preamp instead of a distortion pedal.

Being that I have several synths and keyboards, is it possible to run a unit like the ART TPSII on my Mackie 1604 VLZ 'Main Inserts' along with my compressor/limit/gate, eq, and Aural EX so that all of my synths can run through the ART TPS II for either performance or recording???

Any info appreceated.

The DPS II (same thing) happens to be my favorite thing to run keyboards through when used as a line amp. It has input and output gain, so there's no technical reason why you couldn't make it work on mains inserts as an effect. I don't know that I would want to listen to whole mixes through it though.
