TR909 output

Quick question... are you guys using the L(mono) output or both the L(mono) and R outputs?

If L(mono) only --> TS cable?
If both L(mono) and R --> TRS cables?

I feel stupid but I always get confused with this and the manual doesn't specify.

Also, are the individual outputs TS or TRS? (I'm going to to run the 909 kick channel into a DBX160X)

Thanks

I tend to only use the mono L output for the main outs, but this is entirely a matter of taste/channel availability.

You don't need any TRS cables, its all TS.

edit: oh wait I see, for the DBX on the kick drum...
well you run TS cables from your 909 to your desk inputs and then if you have an insert socket on your desk you can use a Y-split "insert" cable for the DBX... with TRS end plugged into the insert socket on kick drum channel of the mixer and the two TS ends going to the input and output of your DBX.

Thanks for the response nutjob. I'm going to get me some TS cables.

Regarding the 160...I don't have a desk so from the 909 I'm going straight into the 160 and then recording into a line input on my RME FF800.

The 160 accepts balanced or unbalanced inputs but puts out a balanced signal. So I'm going to get a TS cable from the 909 into the 160 and then go out of the 160 with a balanced cable to my RME. That should be ok right? (using balanced and unbalanced cables for recording a sound source through a compressor)

Thanks
