Just got a virus TI snow

impressed with it, sounds awesome. Only 1 complaint, when i use it as a multi-timbral instrument I cant bus/treat the indivitual channels.

EG:

virus #1 playing lead
virus #2 playing a bass line
virus #3 playing pads
I cant treat individual channels, for example if i wanted to bus only virus #1 to my reverb/delay/whatever I couldn't without it sending virus #1,2 and 3 to them also. Strange I would have thought that this would have been able to do this.

Looks like id better get used to bouncing audio

If your using the Virus Control - Check to make sure that #2 and #3 don't have fx on.

If your not using the Virus Control - read about multi-mode in the manual

I dont understand. I am using it as a multi timbral instrument, I have the virus snow which can do 4 channels of audio at once. On each channel if I apply for example and EQ that EQ will be added to ALL 4 channels I've created :(

You must use the Virus Control software and a sequencer to get 4 stereo outs.

Make sure that your sequencer is set up to receive four separate audio streams from the Virus. 1 stream is sent via regular audio (the quarter inch output jacks on the back) and the other 3 are sent digitally over the usb connection.

Using Virus Control, you can select a unique output for each of your instruments using the output select dropdown on the left hand side. You may also want to check the Input/Output Configuration in the Patch Utility section to select the number of USB outputs you need.

It could be a snow on the outside, but a Virus A/B/C on the inside

Just kidding...but the earlier models had global fx.

I never heard of this problem with a Virus. Contact Access, they'll be able to help you.

im using logic 9 and its totally up to date, so is the TI controller.

I've done some googling apparently this is just how it is, if i want to treat the individual signals I have to bounce them as audio and work with them that way :/

figured it out!
You have to open a multi timbral instrument in logic, program all the midi sequence in for patches 1-4, then load the AUX's, then in the TI controller set them to output down either USB1-2 USB3-4 or USB5-6.

ANNOYINGLY this has made me realise that usb5-6 are greyed out for no apparent reason, so I can effectively only stream audio to my laptop down 2 channels

EDIT: I'm dumb and cant use google >_>

Yes, on the Common Page in VC the IO Configuration is set to "2 Outputs/No Input" which means, that the additional 2 streams are used by the ASIO/Coreaudio soundcard feature of the Virus. USB3 is available, if you set the IO config to "3 Outputs/No Input" or "3 Outputs/1 Input", "USB3" will become available. As a trade off, the Virus soundcard functionality will not be to your disposal anymore, since the number of possible streams has been maxed out.
