Yeah i found ko to reply extremely quick up until this. now its been 4 or 5 days and 3 or 4 emails without a reply. no alternate contact info outside of the guy's home address. i dont want to keep bugging this guy and i've patient and peaceful as one could be. i know he's getting the emails and i cant believe it takes 5 days to find an alternate shipping method. i saying i'm far from well off and sent this guy over a 1000 bucks. now i feel like he's avoiding me, the most i've asked since wensday is if he has any updates on the situation and if it shipped. yeah pretty bummed out, i'm completely powerless in this situtation and now broke. i'm trying to stay positive but its getting harder by the day.

I understand how you feel. I've felt panicky on a couple of occasions when dealing with him. Sometimes he replies to my emails right away, sometimes it takes over a week.

A sense of panic is normal in a situation where you're powerless, but I don't think you really need to worry about Ko. In my dealings with him he has been very honest and fair. And slow. Really, really slow.

You're not his only customer. He also has a service shop and a lot of work.

Give this man time to breathe. If no, ask cash return, you got plenty of other dealers. Try Awakewalk guy (you might have to prepare the double amount, though).

Has anybody in the U.S. received a shipment from Modeless Factory within the past month? Ko usually uses EMS Japan Post air freight. But there's a ban on air freight packages coming into the U.S. over 453 grams (16 ounces).

I'm waiting on a synth from him. He hasn't returned my emails, so I'm assuming he's scrambling to find an alternate means of shipping.

Does anybody know of a way of getting a synth shipped to the US with tracking confirmation?

It would be good to forward this to your government institution (for transport).

Because i've heard similar stories. So the more you people contact them, the sooner the ban will be lifted.

this.

heard from ko twice since i posted to this thread earlier on. once saying he was planning to use fedex. the next saying he would ship it nov. 30th via fedex and send a tracking number. the 30th has came and went with no word from ko, i'm at a loss. i keeping faith in this due to everbody else's expeirences but mine's been fairly awkward. has anybody ever gotten a refund from ko?

I bet he is overwhelmed with other orders that took place in the same time as your order regarding that same ban problem. Heck, I would be. I can't imagine having maybe 10, 20, or even more pending orders to the US at the same time the ban happened, and trying to figure out a way to ship it over and solve everyones problems at the same time... but I feel ya, I would be anxious and worried too and would just want a refund.

My CS-30 just arrived a few minutes ago from Ko! I hadn't heard a reply from my emails, so I wasn't expecting it to show up yet. He sent it by FedEx International Economy air. I guess the ban on shipping large items by air into the US is not absolute.

I have no idea how much it cost for him to ship. I hope it wasn't too much. When I shipped it to him for repairs, I checked into FedEx and the cost was sky-high.

I can't wait to get it home and plug it in!

ooh a cs-30. i want to sell my cs-10 for one of those so bad...you have a cs-15 too? do you find there's a lot of overlap with the cs-15 and cs-30?

I still have a korg ms-20 on hold with Ko. I plan finalizing the deal at the end of the month hopefully...i'm guessing the ban is only for us postal service and not other carriers...

I've barely had a chance to use the two together since the CS-30 arrived with major problems. But from my limited experience they're the same as far as the sound of the basic VCO-VCF-VCA voice is concerned.

I'm feeling a bit guilty at having both a CS-15 and a CS-30. The CS-30 has lots of extra goodies that make it special and complex, so I can't imagine giving it up. And I can't imagine giving up the CS-15 since it's so darned easy to use yet still highly flexible. I'm really looking forward to hooking them up together and getting all the oscillators and the sequencer and my hands going at once.

I got a Roland flanger off him and he did the voltage modification and service was excellent. He's even helped me with some technical advice on other gear I didn't buy from him. A-class seller if you ask me...

Forget it. Another rip off like Awakewalk now.

Looks like Ko has become quite the gouge-ist himself. Everything is overpriced just like Awakewalk now. Makes sense with the economy in the toilet and all the new analogs coming out. Why not raise your prices? Um...uh...yeah. Why buy a Micromoog when you can buy an overpriced CS-10 instead? Weeeeeee!

I'm still seeing the Polysix for under a grand. MS-20 is under 2k USD. Monopoly is under 1500USD. SH101's under 1K (a beaten up 101 sold for something like 650 recently).... all these prices include shipping...which gives them a bit more of a competitive edge The prices I'm seeing are either lower or on par with the competition.

In the UK, you'll pay about £1000 to £1200 for a Mono/Poly on ebay, excluding shipping and then even then i might need to go to the local synth tech to get it recapped, Ko charged me about £950 (+ 20 quid bank transfer charge) for a NEAR MINT mono/poly (with original green bag) and is currently in the process of rejiggering the VCO's to get them as stable as the day it was born. It's gonna look and play like it was fresh from the factory! So it was pretty much a no brainer for me. It's being shipped this weekend

As Dougt just said, the Yen is really strong against the Dollar, has been for quite awhile. This makes a big difference.
