It seems more like a standard Voyager + VX351 + CP251 + MF107 + ribbon controller.

I don't think it's poly.

Isn't this basically just a Voyager w/ a CP251 & VX351 bolted to it? Because you can get all that stuff for about $1000 less, though it obviously won't be integrated into one unit. Call me crazy but if I'm gonna drop 5 grand on a synth I'll get an SE Omega8 or build up a pretty slick Eurorack system.

Not to say it doesn't look pretty awesome but $5000 for a monosynth? Pass.

Cool.

It would be fun if those Moog guys would add knobs in the mixer section so you could pan the 3 voices and noise across the stereo field.

More knobs please.

here's a bigger picture: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rScBRKlTdo.../VoyagerXL.jpg

including the expanders was a nice idea, but 5 octaves... huge for a monophonic.

unless, they were thinking someone might wanna use this as master controller in the studio. with ribbon and all. and knobs for midi cc transmit..

not sure this is a good moment on the market for a product like this. well see. are you guys sure its retail is 5 grand ? that sounds insane.

I'm pretty sure it's shopped.

The only place where it's found is in the OP's web page ...

I think it's real.

It was at some reseller sites and one news site but the pages have now been pulled...rather quickly I might add.

Exclamation

I was just called by a friend who spoke with Mike Adams.

But i'm not allowed to pass the information until October.

So... all i can say is that....

... the weather is going to be fine.

I smell poly!!

edit: ..... OTOH - the ribbon controller... it might be a monosynth after all.

It still looks like the layout of a mono, though.

Even duophonic would be nice, but people would bitch that there aren't at least 4 voices.

a poly would be massive, but I don't think this will be it. It'd carry a diff name than Voyager XL. Personally I'd rather just have the external boxes for my voyager than this. Less cost, less commitment, and more flexible for fitting in your space. that size keyboard on a monophonic is totally unneccessary. I'm sure it'll cater to some though.

It doesn't look like a new layout at all. They just repackaged their old stuff. I wished the voyager had jacks in the front panel, but this ain't it. Touch pad and ribbon control? This is just Moog's PMS (pimp my synth).

If it's got analogue patch cables, it pretty much must be a monosynth, right?

Considering how physically big and heavy a normal Voyager is, this is probably pretty insane.

How smart - release an obviously impractical, luxury device while most folks are still having to scrimp and save for (and sometimes sell) their gear. tutt

I love Moog, have a few of their synths and devices, and appreciate that they do make well-made but rather expensive synths, however this just seems like a bad move considering the economic state of this country. I suppose they know what they're doing.

BigCity appears to have some problems w/ keeping cats in bags...
they've already racked up a few dozen orders though so I guess it's OK

The photoshopped or not photoshopped discussions surrounding these things are always a hoot

Is there really an MF107 in there, though, or is that just wishful thinking on the part of "OurDarkness"...?
