| That is hilarious! thumbsup Too bad there isn't one for people who are still hoping that the new Voyager XL is polyphonic! But hey, there is always this:

Moog announced today that DEVO will be receiving the Moog Innovation Award at Moogfest and will receive a special synth from Moog. I wonder if this is what they will be getting.

i'm still pretty sure there's gonna be some polyphony in this beast. also, last night before going to sleep, i was fantasizing it with split control. left hand dope basslines, right hand creamy leads... mmmmmm |

Could it be duophonic? Look at the ribbon. Goes in different directions around a split point of middle C.. Upper and lower ribbon areas |

Only one CV out for the ribbon controller. Pretty sure this thing is mono.

Even monophonic this thing would be awesome if they get the price right.

but i doubt it. they still in that "franklin mint" frame of thinking.. doing exclusive pieces, with ubituqous moog logo, with various slutty designs for ppl who will pay for that exclusivity. sound quality does not have to follow the price tag. you get the same sound in RME as you do in XL. imo LP is their only product truly geared for market.

| I totally agree. They should have used dicrete components like Macbeth does. They really don't even come close to their 70's/80's monos.

Faster envelopes envelopes would be nice. I find the Voyager envelopes a bit slow for percussion and the texture is pretty different from the older Moogs. The fact that it sounds a bit different was one my reasons for getting it.

The Voyager and Little Phatty are great and fully deserving members of the Moog family. If I had the money I'd have a Voyager as look at it, in the mean time the Little Phatty is just wonderful. I can't tell if the XL is real or not, it looks quite impressive if it is but I'm a bit skeptical. |

Voyager envelopes have a 1 millisecond minimum. Maybe you want a different envelope *shape* for percussion? I can't believe that a 1ms envelope is too slow for you. The envelopes are discrete transistor based. (edit: maybe your envs are out of calibration? There's a trim pot you can tweak to shorten them if you want...) The oscillators are chock full of discrete components also - the only things that aren't, are some four-transistors-on-a-chip chips, and op amps. anyhoo... onwards and upwards... lots more new products to work on...

I'll buy one. It's nice to have everything in one place. They should throw an analog delay in there while they are at it... |

But we all know that the Source sounded like shit and only Moog Modular have a somewhat nice sound. So, go for the only real one

An analog delay you could faff around with using CV would be awesome. It'd be great if it did have a built in delay and you could sync the frequency and loudness repeats to the LFO. Now that would be cool as!

I think the Envelopes are one of the strongest parts of the current Moog lineup. If only the VCOs would sound as good as those of the Altair-231 soviet Minimoog clone it would be the perfect monosynth. Now I need to stack both of them up to get the perfect mono |

Well it looks cool enough, but what kind of extra funtionality does it give you? I like the ribbon.. i lurv the one on my A6 as well, so having one on a Moog should really be fun ![]() But i dunno.. it's way to expensive for me to ever seriously consider. I think i'd rather buy 2 challengers for that price.. or a challenger and umm.. say something Oberheim, or a second hand Voyager RME, and i'd still have cash to spare for a couple of beers |

| Well, upon further reflection, if given a choice btw Model D and Voyager XL -- even without taking money into consideration -- I'd go with the former...
