VSTi command line

Hey everyone,

I've done some searching of the Gearslutz archives and on Google but haven't been able to find anything.

What I'm wondering is, is there any command line software to run a VSTi, passing parameters to simulate MIDI in, thus generating a wav loop of the riff?

If not, any ideas on how to accomplish such a task? The key is automation.

I've found "MissWatson" by Teragon Audio but I think this just works for actual effects like chorus or distortion on actual wav files and not for generating audio without input audio.

Thanks in advance for any help!

What do you want to do? Create quick previews of every patch?

MIDI-OX has scripting options - perhaps you can use that?

Yes, it would be particularly useful in a situation such as VST uploads, where a few samples could be generated upon upload, automatically, as an example.

Midi-Ox looks like it could be useful. I'm just trying it out now.

Thanks!

ChucK => Strongly-timed, On-the-fly Audio Programming Language is where you'll find Chuck, an audio scripting language. If only came in vst form...!

I'm sure csound could do this...programming in csound though is just terrible. There is a command line version of it though so you probably could just write a little script and control the vst
