Anyone Out There Give Dance/Pop Production "Lessons"?

I'm an experienced producer and musician of many years in more traditional pop and rock stuff, but really a bit at a loss for experience in the pop/dance kind thing that say, Lady Gaga does.

I'm sitting here thinking...OK...so, when you are a producer for hire (by ad agencies, etc) who call you to do something like this....well, you find someone who knows what they are doing with it and hire him to help you with it.

But I'd also like to learn more about some of these things for my OWN sake, not just because a specific project requires it, so I started wondering if there were people out there, very good at this, who would charge...like any other teacher or tutorial series...to bring someone up to speed and answer questions they had about specific production techniques, sounds, etc.

Is anyone out there doing this? Seems like it would be good for all of us to have people in different genres help each other out....

Thanks
TH

I've wondered this myself. All the places I've found that teach are geared towards those just starting out. Even the more advanced sessions don't seem like they would teach you any ground-breaking techniques, or trade secrets. I'd just like to watch and maybe ask questions during the mix session of a big-name artist track...

Seems like a web site waiting to happen...

Get a bunch of pros in country, in rap, in rock, etc. Charge a membership or something and ask away...hmmm...

Berklee music college offers online non-accredited courses related to electronic music production.

SynthSchool: Course categories

I am taking Modular classes here from a Modular synth developer that are great.
Check out the classes he might include that in his cirriculum.

At this point I think school is okay for the fundamentals, but after a bit you really need to either get in with someone to learn under, be really really smart and self teach, or simply take private lessons.

I know guys that are VERY busy but still give 'private lessons' depending on where you live can cost from anywhere from $75-$100 hr, with upfront payment of 3 hours of lessons.

These are guys with top 40 chart credits.

Don't want to name names but that tis what I'd realistically expect from this caliber, maybe more.

I personally give violin/keyboard/synth (Logic Pro) lessons for around $20-$40 an hour but only have about 30k units solid of my catalog and a few big compilation credits, no top 40 stuff yet. Not trying to 'pimp' my services but just want to be helpful and give you an idea what to expect.
