Thread Starter | MFB Schlagzwerg - a few issues
Hi all, to anyone using MFB Schlagzwerg, what's up with the tiny release clicks on the kick? I suppose the kick osc has an almost zero release time. From what I tried and heard, this is best audible when the kick decay time exceeds the length of the gate. Is this something I should just live with (grmblz) or is there a good workaround? It happens when using the machine's internal sequencer, but also when triggering the drums from midi notes from cubase. I have fiddled around with it and when the midi note length (the trigger/gate note) is made longer it seems to be fixed (or at least less obvious), but this will only work at lower bpm's (at faster bpm's I'd need overlapping notes) so that's not really a solution. I really have no use for release clicks and find them ugly. Is there something I missed, am I using the machine in the wrong way,...? Anyone? On another note, anyone using cubase (or other daw) to trigger the sounds? I'm using trigger mode 4 and have set up one midi track as trigger for all the sounds (using notes D5 and up), so it's easy to set up the groove. The midi trigger track is set to output at midi channel "all", because I assume that the different notes will be sent to trigger the machine using different channels (that's what I gathered from the manual). Of course I also tried channel 10 as midi output channel (I've set the jumpers on Schlagzwerg to be receiving midi information on the basic channel 10 and the manual says the machine then should use channels 10 and up to trigger the different sounds, each sound having a respective midi channel). As a side note, setting the midi trigger track's output to any single midi channel above 10 also triggers the different sounds (which seems contradictory with how I interpret the manual e.g. the first channel for gate1/cv1, the second for gate2/cv2 and so on), setting it below 10 yields no sound at all (probably due to earlier mentioned jumper settings) So the triggering works, but I have an issue with what seems to be voice stealing. Quite often, the higher notes don't trigger their respective sounds, and this happens IRREGULARLY (so it's not that every place there's 2 notes it always happens, also not every time in the same spot, it just happens every X beats and NOT in a consistent way). I already checked the 'restrict polyphony' setting in cubase. Any help MUCH appreciated thx in advance |

I would have to read this right after I placed an order for one of my own. Got any audio examples of this happening? |

The clicks can be made inaudible through different parameter settings for the kick. So that is not an issue anymore, after a bit of practice I'm starting to get the hang of it. The trigger issue when using a sequencer software still persists however. If anyone knows how to fix this, I'd love to know |
