I'm giving the SND SAM-16 another try. I'll likely build a Eurorack rig around Bubblesound's terrific modules, though Modcan's awfully tempting. The Anyware inSEQt should arrive this month, I hope. I'd like to add some more System 100m modules, and I may look into an SH1 or JP4, though I'm not sure I really need that much Roland - or indeed, that many monosynths.

Well, I've had the itch to go modular, or at least a knobby monosynth w/o patch memories...

But realistically, I don't even have time to make use of what I have already, nor do I have room for another synth, especially a modular.

Realistically, I'll probably get some decent monitors and a mixer and/or audio interface.

I barely have time to use what I've got, but still...

- Another dotcom cabinet with the new dotcom quantizer bank and a few STG modules.

- Prophet 08 rack PE upgrade kit, if it comes out.

- Some monitor stands, maybe.

Bogner Shiva el34+reverb+boost (guitar amp)
TR-606
expand the modular (I started with a small Blacet system but Euro has me itchy)

hmmm..... I think I'm going to get an RE-201. I borrowed one for a few months last year, now its time to buy one. my current sell list will easily cover it.

Actually, more than buying anything, I can't *wait* to get rid of my current sell list.. I went and put it all in a pile in the loungeroom last week, and now I'm sick of looking at it. And if it's not gone from there by the time my girlfriend gets back home from her holiday, I'll be in big trouble.

hmmm.. maybe will buy a SEM, or some modular modules.

Everything else coming in this year is probably going to be DIY. Starting with speaker stands to go with the new room reorganisation, then I need to finish off my compressors, then I'll start with some modular modules, and some EQ and some preamps. might also do some bass traps, but I'm kinda used to my room now, it's not so bad, and it has traffic noise anyway.

This year is going to be another big poly for me. Im thinking something along the lines of an Xpander, JP8, OBXa... One of those guys.

Expand my modular cabinet.

The main thing I'm looking at is all the Future Retro XSories that are supposedly coming. I'm pretty psyched about these modules. I'm also keeping close eyes on the rest of the Euro world. Some really cool modules coming out.

I would also like to try out the new SEM.

Like most here, I don't need any more gear, I'm more interested in playing and exploring all the crap I have

Though, I might be looking into more FX units this year, as I like my synth setup and think this would be more valuable to expand my current synth's conic palette with FX.

For me it is going to be some investment in a nice outboard eq and comp. Probably via the lunchbox route and a new adda converter. I'll also have to force myself to spend more time with the gear I already have

I'm pretty much done for the whole year and probably next.

Spent a lot of money on equipment for my new sample dvd project this year, so now I have to utilise what I have. Also if I am finding it hard to write good music with what I have now then the issue is with me and not the gear lol.

I will have to get my Oakley modular running though which might entail a few more modules

2010. shouldn't be a good year for my synth-wise, and that's just fine, but I'm hoping to acquire at least some of wanted equipment:

Roland MKS70
Wave Idea CME Bitstream 3X
Edirol PCR800
Diamond Halo

Make sure you get a MK1, they sound better (an urban myth, volker told me lol)

Im surprised you'd let the Monopoly go. As nice as the Trident is, I think they sound quite different, or at least offer totally different control

......but there again I want a Polysix which some would say is similar to a single VCO trident. I just love the vintage Korg sound. Wish the 700s & Maxi were cheap.

connect and test a vast amount of modules and other gear
(resolder the *%$¨† patchbay)
condense this into a flexible and smaller setup
sell the rest

put 10 of the best tracks together I got now, finish them off, send to my mastering guy, and release these as an album
work with a singer (she's living next door, what are the odds of that happening? LOL) on album #2
work with a good friend on album #3

by then, it'll be summer, and I'll be sipping on a cold drink underneath a palmtree
2010 here we come!!

I make no major plans. IMHO, current options are kind of boring.

Vintage synths: I've got the DX7 and that's as far as I want to go the vintage route. I want reliability. Perhaps if I find something properly refurbished...

VA: Blech, I totally yawn at the sound of VA, every time.

Romplers: All the great romplers are also workstations now. When they lose the workstation part, I'll have a look.

Samplers: The only current stand alone keyboard sampler looks like a washing machine programmer with toy keys.

Analogue synths: The Moog sound never convinced me, even the old Minimoog. The same with modern DSI. MFB knobs are too small and fiddly to be really enjoyable. SE and other rackmounts have sharp rack ears that annoy me. Modulars are too expensive and unwieldy.

The new SEM seems to be the only interesting option. If nothing better comes to light, I'll get that + a small vintage digital keyboard as a controller :-)

In order of priority:

A new house -> build a dedicated studio room -> buy a new analog mixer -> buy 1-2 new preamps + new monitors (A7?) -> buy UAD2 -> buy 1-2 new mics (SM7b + K2?)

why mad?
TT bays are very convenient (space) and last forever.
TRS bays are handy if you have synths TRS-TS inserts and unbalanced fx.
XLR bays are handy if you have mics. (just plug the mic or the xlr loom from the booth into the front)

there's two TRS bays here one soldered one jack-jack
three XLR (for mic and line amps and tie to other)
5 TT bays, soldered
I have to go through all of these again. LOL
