Best emulations for analog summing / "warm" sound?

Hi I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were on the best ITB options to get "warm" sound / saturation or to emulate running your audio (single tracks & mixes) through analog gear / summing? I use audio units and I would prefer not to use cards like UAD or Powercore.

If they did before, they need to re-download the demo again because I fixed a significant bug in TransDesk and TubeDesk (the more 'color' versions) not four hours ago. According to Kagi the bugfix is already swapped in so fast that none of the bug versions even went out in sales- just testing that now, it's true! Sometimes they're quick.

The bug was just a floating-point rounding error that made TransDesk get stuck in 'power supply overload' mode, it sounded like there was a bad connection in an actual analog console. Gotta be some kind of cool when even your program bugs sound like analog problems... it's already fixed, confirmed.

The Desk AU demo plugins are in the collection at

I would but I'm on Mac / AU. I would be interested to hear what people have to say about Mixbus vs the Desk plugins though. Unfortunately there isn't a demo for Mixbus.

UAD Fatso in Harmonic setting. Instant analog mojo. The best that I've heard ITB. I'll be trying out Mixbus really soon..as the majority of the reports have been very possitive on it's sound.

The thing is that I can get actual hardware for the price of UAD + Fatso, so I would like to stay completely native.

...

a uad-2 solo card is $400
the fatso jr and sr plug ins are $230 (with the voucher you get)

and an actual fatso is $2250

so for $1620 less you get a sound very close to the hardware fatso but with all the advantages of a plug-in plus you can expand with the ssl and neve channel strips later for more analog summing sound

Well I didn't specifically say a hardware Fatso.. I just said hardware, but I really don't want a UAD or Powercore card. I personally think they're pointless with how fast CPUs are today. I would rather get a dongled option. I got screwed before when I had a powercore element because no one uses regular PCI anymore everything got upgraded to PCIe.

From what I've read so far, I guess it might be down to something like Mixbus, Desk, or Decapitator? Thoughts, recommendations?

You should try the Decapitator! There's a BETA version up on their site that is good till January 31st. It's very good. Also some people here don't like it, but the Massey Tapehead plug is nice for some color.

Here is a Airwindows "Desk" mix test uploaded

Hello people, I threw this short demo song together really quick
specifically to test the Airwindows "Desk" demo in Logic Audio. Took
me maybe 4 hours to make and mix this short track.
I have a long discography www.orpheos.com and have been making
different kinds of electronica for many years. Anyway, to (my) ears "Desk"
in this initial test is very capable of creating that 'finished record' type
of sound. "Desk" seems to give a much deeper canvas to mix against
while in Logic. It seems to me that if people like Greg Kursten can mix
a gold record inside Logic (Lily Allen "It's Not Mee, It's You") then everyone else should be able to learn how to make it sound right too.

that's my 2 cents, hope it helps

Below is the little demo I made to test Airwindows "Desk"
