Thread Starter | hey i produce house and trance in ableton live and my audio interface is a motu 828 mk II. Now when i come to mixing down im fine with eqing everything and getting everything to sound good and clear however during mixdown im finding i have to turn down the levels of my tracks down a hell of alot so the master output stays below 0db. Is this the norm or am i doing somsthing wrong or are my settings wrong somewhere? |

| Gear nut | Hey, does this masterbus overload only happen when bouncing your mix or is this overload on the mix bus already apparent during mixing? Do you use any plugs on your MB? Is any dithering happening? I must say I mix in another daw, but I expect these principles to be the same

| JMO, Live is NOT a good mastering or editing device. Ableton have done their best to make it seem as though Live is a complete DAW, but almost every experienced Live user I know uses a separate DAW to mix and master in. Live is a GREAT sequencer and has some killer proprietary plugs for making music, but that's where it stops IMO. |
