What's the difference between the sequencers on the Monomachine and Machinedrum?

I have an access virus, an MFB SynthII and am trying to decide which of these Elektron beasts to get. My current instinct is to go for the Machinedrum as this will complement the other hardware well.

However, I also want to make sure that the sequencer in the Machinedrum will suffice. Is it as good as the one on the Monomachine? Is there a big difference between the 2?

Many thanks,
Hugh

i've been mulling over which one to save for and the machinedrum has more tracks. mono has 6 + 6 midi and md has 16 + ? amount of midi (not sure)

other than that i dont know, the mono may have more flexibility in sequencing cc's, but all of this i gleaned from reading the manuals I dont own either and only played briefly with the md. im sure some other owners can elaborate

The sequencers are basically the same. However the Monomachine can sequence up to 6 external midi devices with automation (parameter locks).
The monomachine is capable of also sequencing 6 of it's internal machines. So its like 6 synths and a sequencer. One of the those "machines" is purely for drums.

Machinedrum is only drums (though you can get some great efx sounds and basslines). The two electron boxes are different enough that you should really see what your needs are.

Chances are, if you buy one, you will end up with the other one down the line. Once you figure out the internal logic of the elektron boxes you will realize they work really well with each other.

So what do you need? A dedicated drum machine, or a sequencer with digital synthesis?
