| There'll be a point (actually is with tube distortion plugs), where they'll actually program in random analog imperfections. With 128 integers/memory addresses/bus bandwidth processing and Windows 8(?), it's game over; I say within 5 years. We're just in the middle of the paradigm shift right now. I speak from experience. I worked on the original IBM PC's to XT to AT to 286 to 386 to 486 to Pentium. If history is any indicator... Of course there are those that still prefer typewriters and mailing letters too. If there will ever be a vintage recording hardware museum, now would be the time to build up the collection. |
