Shpongle - Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland
Ozric Tentacles - The Yum Yum Tree

Although it was released back in 2004 I just discovered "Phutureprimitive" and loving it.

Junior Boys - Begone Dull Care

I consider it to be one of the all time greatest synth-pop records.

Hey, it's too early for "year-end lists" - it's not even Thanksgiving!

(grumble grumble christmas decorations up and holiday muzak playing before halloween grumble grumble...)

Fever Ray
Imogen Heap
Muse
Depeche Mode
Editors

Bah humbug.

Also, this year I plan on walking my talk and buying a Santa suit for non-Santarchy occasions such as "at the office" and "running errands". Heh.

A real sleeper that hardly anyone has heard, but Sextus's album stranger than fiction is one of my favs from this year. Its Eric Dover of the Jellyfish who also the singer on the first Slash's snakepit record. It doesnt sound like anyone else - that guy can flat out sing, and production wise although not an amazing sounding record its not bad sounding either, best of all he really takes chances, something that is missing in most of the stuff I hear lately

I'm afraid popping in with a drive-by sentence fragment informing a bunch of people they're "incorrect" about what their own personal favorite albums were in 2009 without offering so much as a single constructive suggestion of your own regarding what you think are the "correct" answers to a personal and subjective question might, just possibly, make you come off as a bit of a passive-aggressively-attention-craving poopy-pants wet-blanket doodoo-head Negative Nelly.

LOL.

He's right you know. The correct answer is in fact "Away From The Sea" by Yuksek.
