Builing Up Sounds / Snare Rollers ???

Hi

Can anyone advise me how can i create build up sounds beefore main peak parts ???

i saw few moths ago Chris Lake doing some stuff with simply delay and sync , but when i've done this , insted clear building up sound i have clicking .

That same situation look with snare rolleers how do them perfeectly ????
