ROLAND SH-09 cv input problem

hi,
i bought a roland sh-09 a few months ago it has some problems like when i increase the relase the pitch goes crazy and a few little problems. but other than that it used to work fine until yesterday.

i use doeper mcv4 to send cv but yesterday suddenly when i stoped my daw roland didn't stop playing but the problem is not mvc4, when i removed mvc4 it didn't stop either actually now when i plug a jack to cv input VF starts to give endless signal altough the other other end of the cable is not connected to anywhere.

is there a way to solve this problem on my own at home
thanks.

first thing make doubly sure your CV converter is working and outputting.

your sh sounds like it's had some abuse/heavy use. ie: sliders used to heavily, sockets used to heavily. your release slider sounds like a loose connection, ether the brush on the slider is worn/damaged or you have a dry solder joint. i suspect your cv problem could be a bad (or maybe just dirty) socket. if you're comfortable with a soldering iron, try reflowing the joints/putting a new socket in. if not, give the socket a clean and a waggle see if that affects it in any way: if so get a friend to re-flow the socket joints for you. if not, take it to the doctors.

Hi,

I'm not sure if my experience here is relevant to your situation, though it sounds a little similar. I was using a Super Bass Station as a CV/Gate converter, driving a Korg Monopoly, recently. If the CV/Gate cables are plugged in, the internal gate is disabled. If I have not yet started my sequencer running (prior to first note), then the Monopoly will just drone away, with no VCA envelope control. Once the gate input activates, then everything is OK. I guess a hung note would also cause a drone.
