You can use the EXT clock in with audio signals for utra fast lfo stuff. Just fire in a sine wave from another synth and set the env to LFO (if i remember correctly). I remember having lots of fun with this.

I put up a few demos on soundcloud after I got mine

roland SH101 by Instruments of Flight on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
Sh101 mnm has the widest variety of lead like sounds of the three demos I have up.

You could also use the dedicated impulse machine on the MD

Yes!! I just managed to sync my SH-101 to a Boss DR-660 putting out MIDI external clock with a Doepfer MSY2. Took me a while to figure out, as I'm a bit new to this. The clock divide settings need to be set as: switches 1 & 3, on, and 2 & 4, off. And don't use a stereo jack lead like I did at first to connect the MSY2 to the SH-101, it won't work - use a mono lead otherwise the SH-101 doesn't connect to the voltage signal properly. My novice's heart is full of joy unbounded now it all works
